You should always call 9-1-1 for medical emergencies. A medical emergency is an event that you reasonably believe threatens you or someone else’s life or limb in such a manner that immediate medical care is needed to prevent death or serious impairment of health. A medical emergency includes severe pain, bad injury, a serious illness, or a medical condition that is quickly getting much worse.
The Texas Health Aetna Anytime-MD App is a healthcare communications platform developed and serviced by CirrusMD Inc. (“CirrusMD”). Texas Health Aetna has contracted with Acute Care Transitions, LLP (“ACT”) to provide access to emergency medicine physicians in Texas through the app. By using the service, members acknowledge an existing and consensual patient-physician relationship between themselves and the physicians.
CirrusMD, ACT and ACT physicians are independent contractors and are neither agents nor employees of Texas Health Aetna, its affiliates or plans administered by Texas Health Aetna. Provider participation may change without notice. Texas Health Aetna and its affiliates do not provide care or guarantee access to health services.
Access to the Texas Health Aetna Anytime-MD application is not included in all plans. To learn whether access to this application is included in your plan, please call the Member Services number on your ID card. The Texas Health Aetna Anytime-MD app is not available in all states.
Using the Texas Health Aetna Anytime-MD app does not replace the primary care physician and does not guarantee that a prescription will be written. ACT physicians will not prescribe DEA controlled substances, non-therapeutic drugs and certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. ACT physicians reserve the right to deny care for potential misuse of services.
